Transition to Malaysia

being in singapore was just like living life. we didnt go out of our way to do anything touristy. however, i did discover paus, or chinese buns. they are white dumplings with things tucked inside, such as chicken, vegetables, or sweet custard. best invetion ever! i am thankful for china for so many reasons.

leaving summer and ryan was so sad. summer is probably one of the cutest, sweetest people i have met on this trip. her cuteness and generosity are indiscribable. they got us indian pancakes on our last day for breakfast :)

kadi, kelly, and i took a 5 hour bus ride to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. also known as KL. the ride was a nice break. i took a nap and when i woke up all i saw were palm trees. lining the land like no ones business. they are everywhere. they have them for their palm oil.

we stayed in a small guesthouse (hostel, basically) in chinatown. there, on the rooftop bar, we met up with jessie and rob! it was so nice to see them and to have an addition to our group! we all went out for some chicken rice.. mmm street food. there was a bumpin hostel across the street so we went there for some drinks and dancing. we met some dutch girls, marije (mariah) and nikki. also, an english guy, stefano. we definitely made the dance floor the best ever. it was nice to let loose and unite with people who dont even speak english through hip hop music.

the next day, or first and only day in KL, we took a bus to a hindu cave. it was a huge limestone deposit that the hindus turned into a temple. there were scary monkeys that stole things out of your hands while you werent looking. also, a nigerian man who wanted to be my friend because i was so cute. luckily, they totally buy the 'oh give me your email and ill just email you' trick. did i mention that the cave took 272 steps to climb up to? that was part of the excitement. next we took a bus to a lake. lake titiwangsa. the bus dropped us off somewhere random and we spent the next hour trying to find it. so retarded. and when we got there, the boat place was closed! we could have rented canoes and row boats :( another guy there wanted kelly and i's picture. pretty typical now. i ate some more chinese buns. cant help myself.
