Goodbye Bali, Hello Java

saying bye to bali was hard. it breaks my heart that i only got to spend 2 days there. it has so much more to offer! yesterday kristian took me to kuta beach on his scooter and we walked around and i tried a bunch of new fruits. my favorite is a mangosteen (sp?) its the one that you break open and has white slices inside. then we had lunch at the same place we had dinner the night before. so delicious. i discovered fried noodles. it is just like nasi goreng only instead of rice it has ramon noodles yuuummm! all the juices here are so delicious too.

at one point in time, kristian, me, and kadi were driving through town stuffed on kristian's scooter like sardines. people would stare or shout out to kristian, "lucky boy!" hah. we loved it.

last night we took a 12 hour bus ride to malang, java. probably one of the creepiest things yet. we took a ferry for part of the way and the bathroom was just a stinky room with a hole in the ground. i will just say that i am happy i made it off that stupid bus alive. our driver drove around for so long trying to find us a hotel that wasnt booked. we finally found one and it was soo damp. kadi and i immediately took showers and it took like 4 hours before our hair was dry.

kadi, kelly, josh and i just spend about 2 hours in this ice cream place because we dont know what else to do. it was pretty neat though, in a historic buildings with really neat chairs. guess we will see what malang has to teach us today..
