Singapore: Day 1

so my last night in jakarta i got stranded and hated my life. due to miscommunication, i was left at the airport alone. luckily, the info desk found me a cheap hotel. it was in a pretty crappy area, but the hotel itself was nice. besides the fact that i didnt get a sink or toilet paper, haha. luckily i carry it around with me here. luckily i met up with kelly at the airport the next day and things were fine.

i found us a couchsurfing couple to host us for a few days, ryan and summer. both born and raised in singapore. ryan picked us up from the airport and got us mcdonalds! they are just the nicest couple ever! they have a cocker spaniel named momo and 4 guinea pigs, one they call lady gaga. i knew i would love them from then on out.

today ryan and summer took all of us (theres also another couple couchsurfing with them, canadians phyllis and sebastian) to china town and bought us lunch. are you kidding me?? it was amazing! singapore is so great, i love it so much. it has so much to offer. china town was great, but after indonesia, things seemed a bit pricier than they should have been. we also went to little india, which wasn't as exciting as i thought it would be. but i did get some bollywood sound tracks :)

singapore is clean and very efficient. they see problems and they do what they can to fix them, it is amazing. at restaurants and things, you dont clear your own table. they hire the elderly to do it so they can have jobs. how considerate!

right now we are making ryan and summer a mexican dinner! however, the store didnt have tortillas, haha. singapore is going to be wonderful <3>
