ok so the floating market isnt even worth mentioning. it was so touristy and i hated it for the most part, haha. just wanted something genuine! guess thats what i get for booking a tour.
we did go to the tiger temple in kanchanaburi, though. it was pretty sad.. because they were totally exploiting those poor things. but i did get to pet like 10 tigers, ha. which you dont get to do every day. it was a pretty good touristy day.
kanchanaburi is incredible. probably one of my favorite places. we are staying at smile home guesthouse, which is run by a thai guy named day. his dogs name is smile. there are only 2 rooms upstairs and one squat toilet downstairs. but day is so nice and would offer us anything we needed. he took me on his motorbike with his dog to play on a rope swing into the river! we swam in the river with a bunch of teenage thai boys in their underwear, haha. it was pretty fun. that night kadi and kelly arrived and i was so excited to see them again! day and i went to the market to buy food to make for dinner. i am going to miss the thai markets. everything is so fresh and smells so good (and awful) and sometimes is still flopping around.
day and i made chicken and vegetables in coconut milk and some other spicy chicken stuff. day's english friend chris came to hang out and he ate with us as well. he is a nice chap. dinner was excellent. we sat around for a bit and decided to go out. the bars here are so chill. they are small and not too loud and everyone is like family. the interesting part is the drinking situation. we bought some whiskey from 7eleven (which are all the rage in asia) and took it to the bar. the bar gave us a bucket, ice, soda water, coke, red bull, and a dozen straws and we did the rest. isnt that so strange? we bought everything but the alcohol at the bar. and we drank it out of a bucket! haha it was great. we played jenga and some card games and some drinking games. it was such a fun night. days friends are so cute and thai, haha.
the rest of the night is a mystery..
