Bangkok

leaving thong sala was much needed. after getting scuba certified, i did little else because the girls were busy massaging. feeling incredibly stagnant, jessie and i decide to overnight it to bangkok!

we met up at the train station in suratthani (or something like that) and i found her with her new friend, swiss michael, drunk. haha. we had a few hours to spare before our train leaves so we wander around a bit and get some dinner. in thailand, sometimes they serve pad thai with peanuts, sometimes without. why without? why dont they all have peanuts?! darn it! luckily the store next door had some peanuts for me, haha.

our bus arrived at 8:20. it was so shitty. we had recliner seats and there were bugs on the walls. luckily we had swiss michael to protect us and help us put on and take off our huge ass backpacks. the bus didnt leave until 9 something, haha. and they gave us dinner! so that was nice. i spilled some tang like substance on my pants. and the night was uncomfortable and sleepless. wonderful, hah.

and i am soo sick of bathrooms with wet floors!! every bathroom is wet! dont they know i occasionally want to change clothes? and where am i supposed to put all my crap? dammit asia!

we arrived in bangkok at 6am and parted ways with dear swiss michael. he was in transit to cambodia. jessie and i took a tuk-tuk (motorcycle with a couch on the back and a roof.. pretty much) to koh soan road, the backpacker hub, to find a room. luckily we found one that is super nice. ac and our own bathroom! i took a shower and we napped until about 9:30. the ac was like antarctica. we could not control the temp, it was just antarctica or thailand. aaannnddd when i awoke from my ice slumber i found that the ac unit leaked all over my bag! my lonely planet india book was 1/3 soaked and i wanted to cry. and all my crap was wet, haha. a little warning, thanks! haha oh goodness.


BANGKOK! jessie and i love how cheap you are!! a dude took us to a few temples for 5 baht each. thats like a few cents. it was awesome. luckily we came on a sunday, so we got to go to the weekend market. this market is the size of a city. and cheap cheap! we looovveedd it! i got 2 pairs of shoes, 2 shirts, a necklace, some sunglasses, and probably some other stuff. i was freaking out about spending money until i added it all up to be about $20 US dollars. dang girl! we had a few beers to celebrate. perfection. we had lunch there AND dinner. our feet are falling off.

tomorrow we wake up super early to visit the floating market! it is 2 hours away! its like, a famous bangkok attraction.. then they tell you its 2 hours away. they are also taking us to a sugar refinery and to kachanburi. hopefully while in kachanburi we will be able to swim with and play with some elephants !!!
